about
The Centre for Behaviour and Technology (CBT) was established to explore the rapidly evolving intersection between human psychology, behaviour, and accelerated technologies. As innovations such as artificial intelligence, digital platforms, automation, and emerging technological ecosystems continue to develop at extraordinary speed, our ability to fully understand their psychological, social, developmental, and cultural impact often struggles to keep pace.
Technology is no longer simply a set of external tools we use, it increasingly shapes how we think, attend, communicate, relate, make decisions, learn, and experience the world. These influences extend across the developmental spectrum, affecting children, adolescents, adults, families, workplaces, and broader society in ways that remain only partially understood.
CBT exists as a space for inquiry, education, and thoughtful engagement with these questions. We aim to bridge psychology, behavioural science, clinical practice, and technological understanding to better examine how accelerated technologies influence wellbeing, mental health, cognition, human development, and social systems.
This remains an emerging and often underexplored area within many clinical, applied, and behavioural disciplines, despite its growing relevance to everyday life and professional practice. Through informative resources, workshops, events, and collaborative discussion,
CBT seeks to support clinicians, educators, organisations, researchers, and the wider public in developing a more nuanced understanding of this evolving landscape.
As CBT grows, we hope to build a collaborative community of individuals and organisations who share a passion for understanding the human implications of technological change and contributing thoughtfully to this important field.
